Abilis CPX 6.3.0 released

Abstract

Abilis 6.3.0 final. This our X-Mas release with a lot of new features.

Highlights

This release adds support for new hardware:

QPRIX

This new card offers 4 E1/PRI port, 32 HDLC channels, up to 64 voice and fax/modem relay channels with 40 msec echo canceller, and an optional extended echo canceller of 128 msec that can be enabled on a per-routing basis on compressed an transparent calls.

It is currently available in the following options:

  • QPRIX0, 0 voice compressed channels, 40 or 128 msec echo canceller

  • QPRIX16, 16 voice compressed channels, 40 msec echo canceller

  • QPRIX32, 32 voice compressed channels, 40 msec echo canceller

  • QPRIX64, 64 voice compressed channels, 40 or 128 msec echo canceller

  • Other combinations may be available in future or upon request. Please contact commercial support.

PB44X

This is a QPRIX with an additional 4 BRI ISDN chip soldered on it, with the 4 x RJ45 BRI connectors available on an extension module that occupies one physical slot. The extension module does not need connectors from the main board, there's just a cable that connects it to the PB44X.

It is currently available in the following options:

  • PB44X0, 0 voice compressed channels

  • PB44X16,16 voice compressed channels, 40 msec echo canceller

  • PB44X32, 32 voice compressed channels, 40 msec echo canceller

RJ45 switch

This is an external box which connects to Abilis CPX via a USB interface and provides 24 RJ45 connectors for switching a total of 8 LINES between MAIN and BACKUP ports. RJ45 has 8 pins, but only pins 3-4-5-6 are switched. Two leds on the front panel indicates the power presence and the condition MAIN (led on) and condition BACKUP (led off).

It's main purpose is to monitor the aliveness of a main Abilis CPX and in case of failure to switch Telco lines to a backup Abilis CPX, but it's a flexible device and since the switch is performed via mechanical relays it can switch other kinds of low voltage signals.

Beside the automatic switch feature there is the possibility to manually set the state of the switch for each line individually.

GPS receiver

A GPS receiver can be connected to the Abilis via USB, all information available from the GPS satellites network are available.

An experimental feature allows the logging of the coordinates at specified interval in a comma separated values file. The file is stored by default in C:\APP\GPS directory and takes name from the Gps resource, e.g. Gps-1.log.

This release adds new drivers and new features, we summarize them in:

  • Extensions in CTISYS and CTIR to support QPRIX and PB44X and their new features.

  • Driver for RJ45 switch, referred in Abilis CPX as RJS-x device and Rjs-x resource, where x is the number of the device/resource.

  • Driver for GPS receiver, referred in Abilis CPX as GPS-x device and Gps-x resource, where x is the number of the device/resource.

  • A SYSLOG driver, referred in Abilis CPX as Syslog resource, that may act as syslog client as well as syslog relay.

  • An Operator Panel Control driver, referred in Abilis CPX as Opc resource, which allows the tracking of the state and the calls of all SIP/IAX/CTIP/CLUS users of the local Abilis CPX and of up to 50 remote Abilis CPX.

The output of OPC is visible using a browser that supports Javascript.

Full compatibility with Internet Explorer 6 and 7, Firefox 3.0, Safari 3.2, Chrome 0.4, Opera 9.52.

It works also with Konqueror 3.5 and 4.0, there's just a problem when exiting from the page with the “back” button of the browser: if you then re-enter the page you will get a notice that another session is already running, just wait at most 60 seconds and you get in again.

There is a protection that impedes to open the same OPC page (same Abilis) more than one time. This protection is disabled in Opera due to a misbehaviour of Opera with “reload” and “back” button, so with Opera please be careful and do not open the same session twice.

  • A set of new user services related to telephony which can be summarized in:

    • A set of web pages where users can individually, and autonomously set, the preferences for their own SIP/IAX/CTIP/CLUS interfaces.

    • Possibility to set Do-Not-Disturb (DND) and Call Forwarding (CF) via web page (all interfaces) or via phone keypad (not for CLUS).

    • Possibility to set advanced rules for DND and CF via web pages. Rules can be defined for time intervals, for calling numbers, called numbers, ...

    • Possibility to enable/disable advanced rules via telephone keypad.

    • Possibility to define groups of users.

    • Possibility to set advanced rules for groups of users.

    • Possibility to enable/disable advanced group rules via telephone keypad.

    • Possibility to log the latests incoming and outgoing calls. User can enable/disable this feature by himself, and decide the number of calls in the range 10 .. 200.

    • Possibility to send an email on incoming call failure and/or incoming call forwarding, to one or more recipients. User can enable/disable this feature by himself.

    • Possibility to permanently enable/disable the own calling number presentation. Up to now it was possible only on a per-call basis by preceding the called number with special codes.
